In the autumn, the sound of Dave clearing the paths and grass of leaves with his blower is one we hear a lot and worry, for a moment, that someone is sawing down a tree – because that is what it sounds like.10/12/2008.

The first picture I took of Dave. It was a bitterly cold day and there was a dusting of snow across the park.

After several years of being closed, Simon went to work and got the old toilet block open in a day. 15/5/2008.

Dave has started his Christmas break and Tom has come over from the Victoria Embankment to give the bowling greens some winter treatment . 22/12/2008.
Terry (right) has been with Dave for a few months now and is the nearest Lenton Rec has ever had to a ‘pin up’. He’s always doing something in the park and clearly enjoys working with Dave. If you see this pic Terry, I will know that you have finally found your pics! 20/12/2009
Update: Terry’s agency contract has come to an end. He will be missed. He was popular with park visitors.

I saw Dave working near the Derby Road gate and took this pic of him pruning. Left is the actual photo. Right is a cropped version, which I prefer. I think it’s one of the best pics I have taken of Dave. 29/12/2008.

Dave with Harry, who started work in the park on 1 March 2010 on a two-year apprenticeship. Dave will help Harry learn the skills he needs to become a good groundsman and his mentor.
